System for Engine and Transmission Override ControlsThe 972GSeries II Steel Mill application has a system for the Engine and Transmission Override Controls. This system allows restarting the engine and operating the machine in a forward or in a reverse direction when the cab has a power loss. This system is meant to minimize the risk for the machine and the operator in case of an electronic problem.Emergency Power Switch

Emergency Power SwitchThis switch provides power to the system for the Engine and Transmission Override Controls. In the normal mode, the switch is placed in the O position. In an emergency, the switch is placed in the I position so that the system has external power. The operator can be sure that the system is in working conditions by looking to the green light. When the green light is ON, the transmission override control is working. When the green light is OFF, there is no power and the system is not working.Emergency Engine Start

Emergency Transmission Control switchThe Emergency Transmission Control switch allows the control of the transmission in case of the loss of power to the cab or failure of the transmission ECM. In normal operation, the switch is placed in the mid-position. In case of a problem with the transmission ECM or loss of power to the cab, the switch can be moved to the front so that the transmission will engage the first gear forward. This system allows remotely stopping the engine and deactivating the parking brake. This system is to help in the towing of the machine when there is a system failure or an emergency. Remote Parking Brake releaseThis switch allows the remote release of the parking brake. The switch also provides a test position in order to check that the system is in operating condition. The system should be tested at the beginning of each shift. When the switch is placed in the test position "T", the green light should come on indicating that the system is in working condition.
