Turn flywheel (1) until threaded hole (2) is at the top.
Remove upper five bolts (3) .

Typical Example. The Tooling shown is not the Tooling called out in the Table.
Install two 5/8"-18 NF guide bolts (4) , as shown.
Use a 1/2"-13 NC x 1 3/4" bolt in hole (2) in order to fasten Tooling (A) to flywheel (1) .
Remove the remaining four bolts that hold the flywheel to the crankshaft.
Use the suitable lifting device and Tooling (A) in order to remove flywheel (1) . The weight of flywheel (1) is approximately 72 kg (160 lb).

Remove gear (5) from the flywheel (1) .Installation Procedure

Note: During installation of gear (5) the chamfer side must be away from flywheel (1) .
Raise gear (5) to a maximum temperature of 315 °C (600 °F). Install gear (5) on flywheel (1) .

Install two 5/8"-18 NF guide bolts (4) in the crankshaft, as shown.
Install Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device on flywheel (1) .
Use Tooling (A) and the hoist in order to place flywheel (1) in position over guide bolts (4) . The weight of flywheel (1) is approximately 72 kg (160 lb).

Typical Example. The Tooling shown is not the Tooling called out in the Table.
Align marks (6) on the end of the crankshaft and flywheel (1) .
Install the bottom four bolts.
Remove Tooling (A) and two guide bolts (4) .
Install the other five bolts that hold flywheel (1) in place.
