Information:
Air Compressor and Air Dryer Circuit
Air compressor (7) supplies air to the air dryer. Air dryer (1) is used in order to prevent the buildup of moisture in the air system. The air dryer uses a desiccant cartridge in order to dry the air. The dry air is then sent to air reservoirs (5) and (35). Pressure sensors (2), (8), and (34) will detect the level of the governor cutout and governor cut-in. The pressure sensor will send an electrical signal to the tractor transmission control. The transmission control will send a signal to solenoid valve (6). When the air pressure has reached the cut out pressure for the governor, an electrical signal will cause the solenoid valve to return to the OPEN position. When the solenoid valve is in the OPEN position, the air pressure from the tractor air reservoirs will cause air compressor governor (9) to shut off the flow of air from the air compressor. When the air pressure in any of the three is below the governor cutout, the signal from the transmission control will cause the solenoid to return to the CLOSED position. When the solenoid valve is in the CLOSED position, the air pressure from the air reservoirs will be stopped. When the air pressure from the tractor air reservoirs has stopped, air compressor governor (9) will allow the air compressor to charge the air reservoirs to the cut out pressure setting of the governor. When air compressor (7) turns off, air compressor governor (9) provides pressure to the air dryer in order to open the drain valve at the bottom of the air dryer. The moisture that is stored inside the air dryer is then drained through a drain hose.Service brake circuit
Engaging the Service Brakes
When the brake pedal is pushed, pressurized air is sent from service brake control
