Information:

Sudden movement of the machine or release of air under pressure can cause injury to persons on or near the machine. To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the air system and brakes.

Required Tools
Part Number     Part Description     Quantity
8T-0846     Pressure Gauge Group
0 to 1000 kPa (0 to 145 psi)     1
2D-7325     Pipe Tee     1    Note: Too much retarder air pressure can cause high transmission oil temperature.
Make sure that the air pressure is released from the reservoirs by opening drain valves.
Close the drain valves.

Left Side of the Scraper Engine (1) Regulator (2) Hose
Remove hose (2) and install the 2D-7325 Pipe Tee. Install the 8T-0846 Pressure Gauge (0 to 1,000 kPa (0 to 145 psi)) on the pipe tee.
Start and run the tractor engine.
When the air pressure reaches cut-out pressure of 965 34 kPa (140 5 psi), stop the engine.
Move the retarder control lever to the ON position. Pull the retarder control lever all the way toward the operator.
Read the pressure gauge. The correct pressure setting of the air pressure regulator is 450 34 kPa (65 5 psi).Note: Make sure that the supply pressure from the retarder control valve remains above the regulator pressure setting.
If the pressure setting is not correct, adjust the regulator:
Turn the adjusting screw under the cap on regulator (1) counterclockwise in order to increase the pressure setting of the regulator. Turn the adjusting screw under the cap on regulator (1) clockwise in order to decrease the pressure setting of the regulator. Put a seal over the adjusting screw when the pressure setting is correct.
Release the pressure in the tractor air reservoirs and remove the pressure gauge. Remove the pipe tee. Connect hose (2) .
