Location of the lowering control valveNote: The lowering control valve is a part of the hoist control valve. The hoist control valve is located in the transmission compartment.
Do not access the lowering control valve by opening the rear transmission cover. If the machine is fully articulated, damage to the rear transmission cover may occur when the dump body lowers. Access the lowering control valve by opening the center transmission cover.

Loosen nut (1) .
Turn valve assembly (2) counterclockwise until the valve assembly contacts the stop.Note: To stop lowering the dump body turn valve assembly (2) clockwise.
If the dump body lowers go to Step 7. If the dump body does not lower go to Step 6.

Have an assistant position a suitable lifting jack (4) under dump body (3) . Raise the jack until it touches the dump body. Raise the jack an additional 100 mm (4 inch) or until the dump body begins to lower.
When the dump body has fully lowered turn valve assembly (2) clockwise until the valve assembly stops. Tighten nut (1) to a torque of 50 7 N m (37 5 lb ft).
Remove the steering frame lock. Remove the blocks from the wheels.
