Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

Disconnect ground strap (2) , remove four bolts (3) , and remove electrical box (1) .

Remove five bolts (4) and then remove plate (5) . Remove bolts (7) and then remove bracket (6) .

Disconnect harness assemblies (10) . Remove bolts (8) and bracket assembly (9) .

Disconnect harness assemblies (11) and disconnect hose assembly (12) .
Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to water temperature control valve (14) then remove bolts (13) , (15) , and (16) . The weight of water temperature control valve (14) is approximately 55 kg (121 lb).
Remove water temperature control valve (14) .Installation Procedure
Install water temperature control valve (14) in the reverse order of removal.
