PROBLEM
The existing 1069162/">106-9162 Bolt may become loose and/or broken on the swing bearing at low hours on certain 308E2 Mini Hydraulic Excavators. The loose and/or broken bolts will result in noisy operation from the bearing area during swing function. Continued use may result in damage to the bearing.

ACTION REQUIRED
Inspect the swing bearing bolted joint and tighten the bolts to the new increased tightening value.
Refer to SEHS0423, Special Instruction, "Inspection and Rework Procedure for Swing Bearing Bolted Joint on Certain 308E2 CR Mini Hydraulic Excavators", for inspection and/or rework of the swing bearing bolted joint.

This is a 8.0-hour job
Before Failure: This is an 8.0 hour job. It requires removal of the center cover, swing motor, and re-tightening of the inner and outer swing bearing bolts to 240 N.m.
After Failure: This is a 24.0 hour job. An additional 16.0 hours are allowed for removal of the cab/canopy, platform, swing motor, upper frame, and replacement of the bolts. Resultant damage may include, but is not limited to, the swing motor pinion, swing bearing, and undercarriage ring.
