Introduction
The joystick on the 414E Backhoe Loader can become contaminated. RTV Silicone Sealant may be applied to the joystick in order to keep the joystick from becoming contaminated.Problem
Water or dust may contaminate the joystick. The contamination may cause the joystick to fail.Solution

Remove four bolts (1) from the machine.

Remove the two setscrews (2) .

Apply 8T-9014 Silicone Sealant to the right side of the opening.

Apply 8T-9014 Silicone Sealant to the left side of the opening.

Apply 8T-9014 Silicone Sealant to the top of the joystick control.Note: Be sure not to apply an excessive amount of 8T-9014 Silicone Sealant . This will cause the function of the rocker switch of the joystick control to not function properly.
Place the two sections of the joystick together. Apply pressure to both sections of the joystick.
Be sure to allow the 8T-9014 Silicone Sealant to cure.
Apply pressure to both sections of the joystick and secure the set screws (2). This will ensure proper sealing between the base of the joystick and the handle.

Place the joystick onto the machine. Place four bolts (1) onto the machine.
