B     8S-9906     Ratchet Puller     2    Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the installation procedure, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble.

Install drive chain (7) in the bottom of the tandem housing. Attach Tooling (B) to each end of drive chain (7) .
Use Tooling (B) in order to position drive chain (7) onto the final drive sprocket and the wheel spindle.Note: Use a bar in order to keep the wheel spindle from turning.

Install Tooling (A) on drive chain (7). Install the master link to both ends of drive chain (7) .
Remove Tooling (B) (not shown) from drive chain (7) .
Install link bar (6) on the master link. Remove Tooling (A) .

Install cotter pins (5) in the master link, as shown.Note: When the cotter pins are installed, position the master link toward the other drive chain. Be certain that the master links of the two drive chains are not installed on the same tooth of the drive sprocket.

Place cover (2) and the gasket in position on the tandem housing. Install bolts (1) and the washers in order to hold cover (2) in place.
Place cover (4) and the gasket in position on the tandem housing. Install bolts (3) and the washers in cover (4) .
Repeat Step 8 for the remaining cover.
Repeat Step 1 through Step 9 for the installation of the remaining drive chains.
Fill the tandem housings with oil. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance, "Capacities (Refill)".End By: Install the rear wheels and rims. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel (Rear) - Remove and Install".
