Start By:
Separate the track.
Remove the pipelayer frame or the counterweight frame.Note: Inspect the O-ring seals. Replace the O-ring seals that are worn or damaged.

Use Tooling (B) in order to raise the rear of the machine until the track guides are above the track links.

Use Tooling (B) in order to raise the front of the machine until the track guides are above the track links.

Note: The front track roller frame does not have an oil drain plug for the recoil spring and the bearing compartment. Use a vacuum pump. If a vacuum pump is not available, the oil will drain when the front track frame is removed from the rear track roller frame.
Remove bolts (1), cover assembly (2), and the O-ring seal. Use a suitable vacuum in order to remove the oil from the recoil spring and the bearing compartment.

Loosen nuts (4) on bolts (5). Remove bolt (6), hard washers (7), and pin (8) .

Use Tooling (C) and Tooling (D) in order to remove pin (8) .

Remove bolts (9) from seal retainer (10) .

Remove bolts (11) and cover (12) .

Remove bolts (13), plate (14), and thrust ring (15) .

Use Tooling (A) in order to remove track roller frame (16). The weight of track roller frame (16) is approximately 4420 kg (9744 lb).

Attach a suitable lifting device to retainer assembly (18). Remove bolts (17). Remove retainer assembly (18) and O-ring seal (19). The weight of retainer assembly (18) is approximately 31 kg (68 lb).

Remove seal retainer (10) .
Remove seal (21) and O-ring seal (20) from seal retainer (10) .
