The Implement ECM then sends a corresponding response through the outputs. The inputs and outputs of the Implement ECM are connected to the machine harness. Use contact connectors J1 and J2.Outputs
The Implement ECM responds to decisions by sending electrical signals through the outputs. The outputs can create an action or the outputs can provide information to the Implement ECM. The outputs for the Implement ECM are listed in the tables that follow.List of Outputs
The CAT® data link is used to communicate with other electronic control modules on the machine. The data link is bidirectional. The data link allows the ECM to receive information. The data link allows the ECM to send information. The data link allows the sharing of information with other electronic control modules. A sample of the information that is passed between electronic control modules through the data link is shown below.The outputs to the Implement ECM consist of the following components:
"Hydraulic Lockout" solenoid valve (This solenoid controls the "pilot ON/OFF" solenoid valve. The solenoid is energized by the ECM relative to the position of the "Implement Lockout" switch.)
"Pump Control" solenoid valve (This solenoid controls the flow of oil to the "pump control" valve. The "pump control" valve controls the flow of signal oil to the "pump actuator".)
"Tilt Back" solenoids (The solenoid controls the pilot control actuator for the tilt back end of the main control spool. The pilot control actuator directs the pilot oil from the tilt back end of the main control spool to the hydraulic tank.)
"Dump" solenoids (The solenoid controls the pilot control actuator for the tilt dump end of the main control spool. The pilot control actuator directs the pilot oil from the dump end of the main control spool to the hydraulic tank.)
"Lower" solenoids (The solenoid controls the pilot control actuator for the lift lower end of the main control spool.)
"Raise" solenoids (The solenoid controls the pilot control actuator for the raise end of the main control spool.)
"Lower Detent" coil (The coil holds the lift lever in the LOWER position.)
"Raise Detent" coil (The coil holds the lift lever in the RAISE position.)
"Tilt Back Detent" coil (The coil holds the tilt lever in the TILT BACK position.)The Implement electronic control module (ECM) receives engine speed information from the Power train ECM. The Implement ECM uses this information to perform calibrations. The Implement ECM receives information about the key start switch from the Power train ECM. The Implement ECM uses this information to deactivate during engine cranking. The Implement ECM exchanges diagnostic information with the Caterpillar Monitoring System. All electronic control modules that use a data link will have a module identifier (MID). The MID for the Implement ECM is 082. The Caterpillar Monitoring System displays the fault codes. The MID identifies the faulty system.
