Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the engine guards. See Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Side Guards - Remove and Install".
Disconnect the battery cables from the batteries.

Disconnect wires (1) from the solenoid.
Disconnect wires (2) from electric starting motor (3) .
Remove bolts (4), electric starting motor (3) and the gasket from the flywheel housing. Use two people to remove electric starting motor (3). The weight of electric starting motor (3) is 23 kg (50.0 lb).Installation Procedure

Install the gasket and electric starting motor (3) in position on the flywheel housing. Install bolts (4) .
Connect wires (2) to starting motor (3). Tighten wires (2) to a torque of 27 N m to 33 N m (20 lb ft to 20 lb ft).
Connect wires (1) to the solenoid. Tighten wires (1) to a torque of 3.5 4.5 N m (31.0 40.0 lb in).
Connect the battery cables to the batteries.End By: Install the engine guards. See Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Side Guards - Remove and Install".
