General Description
(1) Timing pin, (2) Hub, (3) Fuel injection pump body, (4) Locking screw, (5) Mounting flange, and (6) Nut.

Do not release the nut (6) from the fuel injection pump. The fuel injection pump hub (2) is fitted to the shaft in the factory. This ensures that the fuel injection pump is in the correct position for timing. If the hub is removed, the hub will need to be accurately fitted to the pump by use of special tools.
The hub (2) is permanently mounted onto the drive shaft. This allows the fuel injection pump timing to be set accurately.To prevent incorrect adjustments to the engine timing by rotation of the pump, the mounting flange (5) has holes instead of slots.Accurate timing of the fuel injection pump is accomplished by the use of a 150-3992 Timing Pin (1). The timing pin aligns the gear, the timing plate, and the hub with a hole in the fuel injection pump body (3). The gear and the timing plate are passed over the pin and fastened to the hub.
A new or remanufactured fuel injection pump may be supplied with the pump shaft in the locked position. The drive shaft of the pump must not be turned without the spacer (8) in position under the locking screw (4).
The fuel injection pump has a locking screw (4) and a spacer (3). The locking screw prevents the rotation of the drive shaft.An O-ring (7) is fitted into a groove in the pump flange. The O-ring is fitted instead of a joint between the pump flange and the timing case.
