The rating definitions identify the percent of time at full throttle. The definitions also identify the corresponding times below rated rpm.Note: For an exact determination of the appropriate rating, follow the OEM specifications or consult your Caterpillar dealer.There are five ratings from A to E. The rating for the C7.1 industrial engine is C.C - Intermittent service in conjunction with maximum power and/or speed are cyclic. The engine at full load should not exceed 50 percent of the duty cycle.
Operating engines above the rating definitions can result in shorter service life before overhaul.
