This Program can be administered either before or after a failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS8439" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

General Rework Procedure for both 5130 and 5230:
1. Drain into a suitable container, the coolant from the radiator to a level below the top tank.2. Locate the coolant level sensor on the top tank and remove the sensor from the top tank. Plug the existing boss with a 5M6213 plug using some type of pipe sealant. A 5130 will require (2) 5M6213 Plugs and a 5230 will require (1) 5M6213 Plug.
3. Using the boss that was plugged in Step 2 above as a reference, drill 12mm (0.5") diameter hole as shown in Illustration 1 and 2. Drilling the hole will require some type of magnetic device inserted into the radiator sight gauge or filler hole to collect metal chips and to prevent them from entering the cooling system.
4. Weld a 3N5863 Boss using a 3mm fillet weld at the location of each hole 12mm hole drilled in Step 3 above.5. Perform one the following procedures: For 5130 Only:A. Reinstall the coolant temperature sensors in the location of the new bosses.Fasten, clip or tie anyexcess harness as needed.
For 5230 Only:
A. Fabricate harness assembly as shown in Illustration 3.B. Install the fabricated harness between the coolant temperature sensor and the original machine harness.Reinstall the coolant temperature sensor in the new boss installed previously.Fasten, clip or tie any excess harness as needed.6. Fill the radiator with coolant.7. Replace the filler caps and/or sight gauges.8. Check for leaks.
