Information:

14. Use two 3/8'-16 NC forcing screws (16) to loosen bearing cage (13) and the O-ring seal from the case.15. Remove bearing cage (13), the O-ring seal and the shims. Keep the shims together for assembly purposes. 16. Remove O-ring seal (18) and bearing cup (17) from bearing cage (13). 17. Remove gear (19) and the bearing cones from the case. The weight of the gear and bearing cones as a unit is 23 kg (50 lb.). 18. Use tooling (C) to remove bearing cones (20) from each side of the gear. 19. Remove bearing cup (21) from the case. 20. Remove bolt (24), retainer (23), the O-ring seal and yoke (22) from the output shaft. 21. Remove bolts (26) that hold cage (25) to the case. 22. Use two 3/8'-16 NC forcing screws (27) to loosen cage (25) and the O-ring seal from the case.23. Remove cage (25) and the O-ring seal from the case. 24. Remove seal (28) from the cage. 25. Remove bearing cup (29) and O-ring seal (30) from the cage. 26. Fasten a nylon strap and a hoist to hold gear (31) in position.27. Use tooling (D) to push output shaft (33) from gear (31) and bearing cone (32).28. Remove gear (31) and bearing cone (32) from output shaft (33). 29. Remove output shaft (33) and bearing cone (34) from the case. The output shaft is free to fall when the bearing cone is removed.30. Use tool (E) and a press to push the output shaft from bearing cone (34). 31. Remove gear (31) from the transfer gear case. 32. Remove sleeve (35) from the case. 33. Remove O-ring seals (36) and (37) from the sleeve. 34. Remove bolts (39), cover (38) and the gasket from the case. 35. Remove screen (40) and tube (41) from the case. 36. Separate screen (40) from tube (41).37. If necessary, remove magnets (42) from the tube.Assemble Transfer Gears
1. Make sure the magnets on the tube and the screen are clean and free of dirt and foreign material.2. Make sure magnets (2) are in position on tube (3).3. Install tube (3) into screen (1) as shown. 4. Install tube (3) and screen (1) into the case. 5. Put O-ring seal (5) in position on cover (4), and put clean transmission oil on it.6. Install cover (4) on the case. 7. Install O-ring seals (6) and (8) on sleeve (7). 8. Install sleeve (7) in the case. 9. Put gear (9) in position in the case as shown. 10. Heat bearing cone (10) to a maximum temperature of 135°C (275°F), and install it on output shaft (11). 11. Put the bearing and output shaft (11) in position in the case. Gear (9) must be lifted slightly to make an alignment with the output shaft. 12. Heat bearing cone (12) to a maximum temperature of 135°C (275°F), and install it on the output shaft as shown. 13. Lower the temperature of bearing cup (13), and install it in cage
