ACTION REQUIRED
Inspect the installation of 221-4872 Hose and the position of both 144-0367 Band Clamps. The position of the band clamps on the hose should be approximately 10mm from the bead (raised edge) on the end of the suction pipes. If the band clamps are not positioned correctly, reposition the band clamps and tighten the band clamps to a specified torque of 11 N.m (97 lb in). Refer to Image1.
If the hose is too far out of position and has to be reinstalled, use the following procedure in order to reposition the hose and band clamps.
1. Drain the hydraulic oil from the tank into a suitable container for reusing the oil. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance manual for your machine in order to release system pressure.
2. Loosen the band clamps on the hose and remove the hose.
3. Make a mark 45mm from the open end of the suction pipe that is connected to the tank.
4. Slide the band clamps over each tube and slide the hose on the tube until it reaches the 45mm mark.
5. Position the band clamps approximately 10mm from the bead (raised edge) on the end of each tube.
6. Tighten each band clamp to a specified torque of 11 N.m (97 lb in).
If the hose has failed, follow the procedure above in order to replace the hose and band clamps with new parts.

0.5 hours will be allowed for inspection of the hydraulic oil return hose. An additional 2.0 hours will be allowed to drain the hydraulic tank and replace the hose and clamps for an after failure repair only.
