There are several specific messages on this machine. The location of the messages and the description of the messages are reviewed in this section. Please become familiarized with all messages.Make sure that all of the messages are legible. Clean the messages or replace the messages if you cannot read the words. Replace the illustrations if the illustrations are not legible. When you clean the messages, use a cloth, water and soap. Do not use solvent, gasoline, or other harsh chemicals to clean the messages. Solvents, gasoline, or harsh chemicals could loosen the adhesive that secures the messages. Loose adhesive will allow the messages to fall.Replace any message that is damaged, or missing. If a message is attached to a part that is replaced, install a message on the replacement part. Any Caterpillar dealer can provide new messages.
When the steering lever is moved with the transmission in NEUTRAL or in gear, and the engine is running, the machine will turn. Engage the steering control lock by engaging the parking brake in order to prevent machine movement.

The Product Link System is a satellite communication device that transmits information regarding the machine back to Caterpillar and Caterpillar dealers and customers. All logged events and diagnostic codes that are available to the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) on the CAT data link can be sent to the satellite. Information can also be sent to the Product Link System. The information is used to improve Caterpillar products and Caterpillar services.Counterweight Bolt (2)

Cabs (S/N: CMX1-179)
If equipped, this message is located inside the cab on the window link (7) of the rear cab window. Pull window link (7) away from the stripping in a clockwise direction all the way around the window. This releases the window from the interlocking slot. Push out the window and exit the cab.
