Information:


Place the hydraulic control console in the RAISED position.
Disconnect the battery from the electrical system.
Remove the floormat from the cab.

Remove the floorplates (A,B) and plate assembly (C) .
Remove floorplates (A,B) and the plate assembly (C). Refer to Illustration 12.

(D) Retaining ring (E) Lever assemblies (F) Spacer
Remove the retaining ring (D) which secures the lever assemblies (E) to the frame of the excavator. Save the retaining ring (D) and any spacers (F) which are removed. Refer to Illustration 13.
Remove the lever assemblies from the shaft which holds the levers in place. Save the shaft.

Install a 160-8125 Collar (1) on each of the lever assemblies (E). Do not tighten the 8T-9336 Socket Setscrew (2). The setscrews will be tightened after the lever assemblies have been secured to the frame. Refer to Illustration 14.
Attach the wires (L) and (M) to the terminals of the 6T-5925 Limit Switches (6). The wires are part of the 169-5349 Harness (7). Refer to Illustration 14 for the correct wire connections.
Install the limit switches (6) to the 165-3942 Bracket (3) with two 147-1940 Screws (8) and two 5H-6555 Lockwashers (9). Refer to Illustration 14 for the correct wire connections.
Connect the harness (7) to the chassis harness.
Secure the bracket (3) to the frame of the machine with two 8T-4171 Bolts (4) and two 8T-4205 Hard Washers (5). Refer to Illustration 14.
Install the lever assemblies (E) to the frame with the parts which were removed in Steps 12 and 13.
Adjust the collars (1) while the lever assemblies (E) are in the NEUTRAL position. The rollers on the switches must be centered in the notches of the collars. Refer to Illustration 14.
Tighten the setscrews (2). Refer to Illustration 14.
Open the engine hood.

(4) 8T-4171 Bolts (5) 8T-4205 Hard Washers (10) 161-2539 Alarm Group (Travel) (11) 171-2071 Cable
Attach the 161-2539 Alarm Group (Travel) (10) to the left hand rear corner of the machine's frame. Use two bolts (4) and two hard washers (5) to secure the travel alarm to the frame. Refer to Illustration 15.
Attach the 171-2071 Cable (11) to the chassis harness.
Attach the 171-2071 Cable (11) to the travel alarm (10). Refer to Illustration 15 for the correct connections.
Connect the battery to the electrical system.
Close the engine hood. Install the floorplates and the floormat in the cab.
Test the travel alarm. Refer to the section ""Testing the Travel Alarm"" in this publication for the testing procedures.Testing the Travel Alarm
Start the engine. Move the left
