Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the Electronic Control Module (ECM). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Electronic Control Module - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.

Cut cable strap (1), cable strap (4), and cable straps (9) from wiring harness assembly (8). Note: Note the position of cable straps that attach the wiring harness assembly to the ECM mounting bracket.
Position wiring harness assembly (8) away from ECM bracket (10).
Remove bolt (5) from bracket (6) for plastic tube assembly (7).
Position the plastic tuber assembly and the bracket away from the ECM bracket (10).
Remove nut (2) and disconnect harness (3) from the busbar insulator.

Remove bolts (11) from ECM bracket (10). Support the bracket as the bolts are removed.
Remove ECM bracket (10) from cylinder block (12). Installation Procedure
Ensure that ECM bracket is clean and free from damage. Replace ECM bracket if the ECM bracket is damaged.

Position ECM bracket (10) onto the cylinder block. Ensure that the bracket is correctly orientated.
Install bolts (11) to ECM bracket (10). Support the bracket as the bolts are installed.
Tighten bolt (11) to a torque of 22 N m (195 lb in).

Position wiring harness assembly (8) onto ECM bracket (10).
Install new cable strap (1), cable strap (4), and cable straps (9) to wiring harness assembly (8). Note: Ensure that the cable straps meet the Original Equipment Manufactures (OEM) specifications.
Position plastic tuber assembly (7) and bracket (6) onto ECM bracket (10).
Install bolt (5) to bracket (6) for plastic tube assembly (7).
Tighten bolt (5) to a torque of 22 N m (195 lb in).
Connect harness (3) to the busbar insulator.
Install nut (2). Tighten the nut to a torque of 10 N m (88 lb in). End By:
Install the electronic control module. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Electronic Control Module - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
