Removal Procedure
Start By:
Relieve the hydraulic system pressure in the machine.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the work tools have been lowered to the ground, and the oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Personal injury or death can result without releasing all of the hydraulic pressure.Release all the pressure from the hydraulic system before any lines are disconnected.

Disconnect hose assemblies (1), (2), (4), and (5).
Disconnect hose assemblies (7) and (8) from brake valve (3).
Remove oil level gauge (6).

Attach a suitable lifting device to swing motor (9). The weight of swing motor (9) is approximately 37 kg (80 lb). Remove bolts (10) and remove swing motor (9) and the O-ring seal. Installation Procedure

Use a suitable lifting device to position swing motor (9). The weight of swing motor (9) is approximately 37 kg (80 lb).
Install the O-ring seal and swing motor (9).
Install bolts (10). Tighten bolts (10 ) to a torque of 102 16 N m (75 12 lb ft).

Install oil fill gauge (6).
Connect hose assembly (7) and hose assembly (8) on brake valve (3).
Connect hose assembly (1) and hose assembly (5). Tighten hose assembly (1) and hose assembly (5) to a torque of 76 4 N m (56 3 lb ft). Install hose assemblies (2) and (4).
