Active Derate Monitoring Feature
Note: The feature is only supported for the G3512H engines.The purpose of the ambient-based derate is to ensure that the turbocharger compressor is operating at an optimal region of mass flow, pressure ratio, and efficiency. The feature also ensures that the overall engine air system is operating within the intended design limitations. The active derate strategy will monitor the ambient site conditions via the engine installed sensors and then output a power derate request to the generator power controller. The purpose is to ensure that the engine will be running at the maximum allowable power output, per pre-set maps and tunes.Note: Engine performance information is located in the tech data sheet and sourced from the Gas Engine Rating Pro (GERP) . Rerates from HE and HR configurations are required to have a factory password.The feature will primarily be used in the Electric Power (EP) application with load feedback. The feature is optional and will require a connection between the Engine Control Module (ECM) and the Electronic Modular Control Panel (EMCP). A third-party hardware can be used, that is capable of receiving a power derate signal via an analog signal or modbus.Note: J1939 - SPN 3644 Engine Derate Request "Modbus 813"When the ambient pressure and ambient temperature conditions permit, the engine will operate to the 100% load rating. The feature will request that the controller derate over a 2 minute timeframe or request for an uprate over a 15 minute timeframe. The maximum derate request is 50%.The feature uses the following engine sensors:
Turbocharger compressor inlet temperature
Air filter differential pressure sensor
Ambient pressure sensorNote: If a diagnostic code is set for any of these sensors the feature will be disabled.Desired Speed Input
