Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Thoroughly clean the outside of the parking brake and the adjacent area of the output transfer gear case prior to disassembly.Note: The parking brake is on the output transfer gear case.
Drain the oil from the hydraulic oil tank into a suitable container for storage or proper disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil (Implement and Brake) - Change".

Remove hose assemblies (1).

Remove hose assemblies (3), tube assemblies (2).
Remove bolts (5) and bracket (4).

Remove hose assembly (6) from parking brake (7).

Remove bolts (8) from parking brake (7). Install bolts (8) into a different location to release parking brake (7). Remove bolt (9) and bolt (10).

Install Tooling (A) into bolt holes from bolt (9) and bolt (10). use a suitable block to support the opposite end of Tooling (A).

Do not remove bolt (11) and bolt (13). Bolt (11) and bolt (13) hold the parking brake assembly together. Bolt (11) and bolt (13) are identified by the notches in the housing. Remove bolts (12).

Retract parking brake assembly (7) on Tooling (A) for a distance to attach Tooling (B) and Tooling (C). Attach Tooling (B) to parking brake assembly (7). Attach Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device to Tooling (B) and the machine structure. Repeat the use of Tooling (B) and Tooling (C) on the opposite side of the machine. The weight of parking brake assembly (7) is approximately 165 kg (364 lb).
Use Tooling (B) and Tooling (C) to support parking brake assembly (7) and to relieve weight from Tooling (A). Remove Tooling (B).

Carefully release one Tooling (C) to position parking brake assembly (7) under the steering cylinder.

Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to park brake assembly (7). The weight of parking brake assembly (7) is approximately 165 kg (364 lb). Remove parking brake assembly (7).Installation Procedure
Install parking brake assembly (7) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten bolts (12), bolt (9) and bolt (10) to a torque of 270 40 N m (199 30 lb ft).
