1. Drain the oil from the steering system hydraulic tank.2. Release the air pressure from the brake release and starting and service air reservoir. 3. Remove the bolts that hold guard (1) in place, and remove the guard. 4. Put identification marks on hoses (2) and (3) for assembly purposes. Disconnect hoses (2) and (3). Remove the bolts and clips that hold hoses (2) and (3) to the cab.5. Disconnect wire harness (4). Remove the bolt that holds the wire harness and clip to the cab.6. Disconnect the hose for the air horn. 7. Remove the bolts and plate (6) from the ladder.8. Remove bolts (5) that hold the ladder to the cab. 9. Fasten a hoist to ladder (7). Remove the four bolts that hold ladder (7) to the cab, and remove the ladder. The weight of the ladder is 48 kg (106 lb). 10. Close the two valve assemblies from the water pump to the heater group.11. Put identification marks on two hoses (9) for correct assembly. Loosen the hose clamps, and disconnect two hoses (9).12. Remove the bolt that holds clip (10) in position.
Effective July 1, 1992 regulations prohibit the venting of any refrigerant into the atmosphere. Refer to Caterpillar publication SENR3334-01 and NEDG5065-01 for the proper procedure, equipment and tools to reclaim refrigerant from any Caterpillar machine.
13. Put identification marks on two air conditioning hoses (8). Disconnect two hoses (8) at the couplers. 14. Put identification marks on wire harnesses (11), (12), (13) and (14), and disconnect them from the cab.15. Disconnect tachometer cable (15). In photo C59592p1 the hoist control rod has already been disconnected. Follow step 16 for the proper procedure.16. Remove the cotter pin and the pin, and disconnect the hoist control rod from lever (16).17. Disconnect hose (17). Each air hose opening in the plate has an identification number. Put identification marks on the air hoses to match the number on the opening.18. Put identification marks on six hoses (18). Disconnect hoses (18) from the cab. 19. Remove the bolt that holds the clip and wire harness (4) to the frame.20. Remove eight front cab mounting bolts (19). 21. Fasten a hoist to cab (21) as shown.22. Remove 12 rear cab mounting bolts (20), and remove the cab from the machine. The weight of the cab is 1683 kg (3710 lb). 23. Remove shims (22), the sleeves and retainers (23) from the front and rear supports. 24. Fasten a hoist to front support assembly (24). Remove the bolts that hold front support assembly (24) in position, and remove the front support assembly. The weight of the front support assembly is 173 kg (380 lb).25. Fasten a hoist to rear support assembly (25). Remove the bolts that hold rear support assembly (25) to the frame, and remove it. The weight of the rear support assembly is 181 kg (400 lb).Install Cab
