The 2P4005 Lube Filter needs to be removed from dealer inventory.The seam that is formed at the top of the can may leak.The can and retainer should be rolled together forming a tight seal.During assembly a worn tool was used, allowing the seal to be formed incorrectly.This could cause the filter to leak oil, in as little as 10 minutes after the initial use.The possibility exists for a catastrophic failure of the filter, allowing the loss of all engine oil, leading to the loss of an engine.These filters are mainly used in offroad trucks.
Action Required
The affected filters can be identified by the date code printed on the counterfeit deterrent labels.The date code will be printed in the form DDMMYYD9101C0, where the first six (6) digits are for the day, month and year that the filter was produced.Any of the 2P4005 Filters that have date codes with month and year of 0999, 1099 and 1199 need to be removed from stock.

Submit one claim for all 2P4005 Filters that have date codes with month and year of 0999, 1099 and 1199 removed from Parts Stock.
