Disassembly & Assembly (3196 EngineSupplement For Challenger 85E and Challenger 95E Agricultural TractorsPower Train) Service Manual Module; Form No: SENR1749Complete the following steps using thereferenced service manual module as a guide.1) Loosen the clamps retaining theinlet air hose and outlet hump hose on the compressor side of the turbocharger.2) Move the hoses away from the compressorcover.3) Loosen the cover retaining clamp.4) Remove the existing compressor coverand replace with the new 1503665 Cover.5) Tighten the retaining clamp to 18N m (160 lb-in), loosen to 6 N m (53 lb-in), and retightento 13.5 +/- 1.0 N m (120 +/- 9 lb-in).6) Reinstall the previously removedhoses and clamps.7) Tighten the clamps to 8.5 +/- 1.0N m (75 +/- 9 lb-in).8) Check for proper operation.Group 2 - After FailureTurbocharger ReplacementReferences:

Replace the failed turbocharger group.Refer to the Turbocharger - Remove, Turbocharger - Install, and Turbocharger- Specifications sections included in the appropriate referenced ServiceManual Module. New gaskets, oil seal, and mounting hardware should be used.Refer to Illustration 1.
