10 VDC Power Supply connections for the Implement ECM
This diagnostic code is associated with the 10 VDC sensor power supply for the Implement ECM. The 10 VDC sensor power supply provides power for the joystick and the in cylinder position sensors.The CID 1482 FMI 04 diagnostic code is activated when the Implement ECM detects that the voltage of the 10 VDC power supply circuit is lower than normal.The following conditions could cause this diagnostic code:
A component that is powered by the power supply has failed.
The power supply circuit is shorted to a ground source.
The ECM has generated this diagnostic code in error.Note: Before performing this procedure, inspect the harness connectors that are involved in the circuit. Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean, secure and in good condition. If a problem with a connection is found, correct the problem and verify that this diagnostic code is active before performing this procedure. Note: The following test procedure may create other diagnostic codes. Clear the diagnostic codes when the problem has been corrected.Test Step 1. CHECK THE COMPONENTS
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the ON position.
One at a time, disconnect a component that uses the 10 VDC power supply from the machine harness. As each component is disconnected, check the status of the CID 1482 FMI 04 diagnostic code.
Continue disconnecting the components from the machine harness one at a time until the status of the CID 1482 FMI 04 diagnostic code changes or until all of the components that are connected to the 10 VDC power supply are disconnected. Expected Result:When one of the components is disconnected from the machine harness, the CID 1482 FMI 04 diagnostic code is no longer active.Results:
OK - The CID 1482 FMI 04 diagnostic code is not active when one of the components is disconnected. The power supply circuit is correct. The component that was disconnected when the status of the CID 1482 FMI 04 diagnostic code changed has failed. Repeat this test step in order to verify which component is causing the problem.Repair: Once the problem component is determined, replace the component. After the component is replaced, verify that the problem has been corrected before operating the machine.STOP
NOT OK - The CID 1482 FMI 04 diagnostic code is still active. Disconnecting all of the components that are using the 10 VDC power supply did not change the status of the diagnostic code. Proceed to Test Step 2.Test Step 2. CHECK THE POWER SUPPLY AT THE ECMAll components that are connected to the 10 VDC power supply remain disconnected from the machine harness.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the OFF position.
At the Implement ECM connector J1, use a 151-6320 Removal Tool or a similar tool to remove the power supply wire and socket at contact J1-69 (wire P994-BU(Blue)) from the connector. The machine harness connector J1 remains connected to
