Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to the transmission and transfer gears. Install the transmission and transfer gears. The weight of the transmission and transfer gears is approximately 675 kg (1488 lb). Install bolts (33) and the transmission mounts to the machine.

Install transmission mount (32) and bolts (31) to the machine.

Remove Tooling (A) and the suitable lifting device from the transmission.

Connect hose (30) , split flange (29) and bolts (28) to the transmission.

Connect hose (27) to the transmission and tighten retaining nut (26) . Connect hose (25) to the transmission and tighten retaining nut (24) .

Connect hose (23) , split flange (22) and bolts (21) to the transmission. Connect hose (20) , split flange (19) and bolts (18) to the transmission. Install bolts (17) and the grease fittings to the transmission.

Install bolts (16) and the clips to the transmission.

Install the drive shaft slip joint to the transmission. Install bolts (15) to the drive shaft slip joint. Tighten bolts (15) to a torque of 60 7 N m (45 5 lb ft). Install cover (14) to the machine. Install bolts (13) to the cover. Repeat this procedure for the other side.

Install cable (12) and nut (11) to the transmission. Install yoke rod end (10) to transmission selector valve (9) .

Install bolt (8) to transmission selector valve (9) . Adjust the transmission selector valve. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, SENR5624 for information on adjustment of the transmission selector valve.

Install cover (7) to the transmission. Install light (6) and bolts (5) to the transmission. Connect harness assembly (4) . Install harness assembly (4) to the clip.

Install hose (2) to tube (3) and tighten hose clamps (1) .
Add fluid to the transmission and transfer gears. Refer toOwner's Manual, SEBU6447 for information on refilling the transmission and transfer gears.End By:
Install the universal joint. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Universal Joint - Install".
Install the parking brake actuator. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Parking Brake Actuator - Install".
