Diagnostic Trouble Codes for the DEF Pump Sensor Supply

3511-3 3482-3 Sensor Supply #3: Voltage Above Normal An open circuit has been detected in the 5 V supply to the DEF pump.
3511-4 3482-4 Sensor Supply #3: Voltage Below Normal A short circuit has been detected in the 5 V supply to the DEF pump.
Follow the troubleshooting procedure to identify the root cause of the problem. Complete the procedure in the order in which the steps are listed.

1. Check for Active Diagnostic Codes
A. Connect to the electronic service tool. If necessary, refer to Troubleshooting, Electronic Service Tools.
B. Check for active diagnostic codes.
Diagnostic codes
Result: One of the diagnostic codes listed in Table 1 is active.
Proceed to Test Step 2.
Result: None of the previous diagnostic codes are active.
Return the engine to service.
2. Replace the Pump and Electronics Unit (PEU)
Note: The PEU is a non-serviceable unit. If a fault is suspected, the PEU must be replaced.
A. Replace the PEU.
PEU fault
Result: The PEU was replaced.
Proceed to Test Step 3.
3. Perform a DEF Dosing System Verification Test
A. Turn the keyswitch to the "ON" position. Do not start the engine.
B. Connect the electronic service tool.
C. Perform the "DEF Dosing Verification Test" .
Diagnostic codes
Result: The code did not return.
Return the unit to service.
Result: The code returned.
