Disassembly Procedure
Start By:
Remove the rear tires and wheels. See Disassembly and Assembly, "Tires & Wheels (Rear) - Remove and Install".
Remove the final drive. See Disassembly and Assembly, "Final Drive (Drive and Steering Axle) (Rear) - Remove".
Remove the axle housing. See Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive and Steering Axle Housing (Rear) - Remove".
Remove the service brakes. See Disassembly and Assembly, "Service Brake - Remove".

Remove plate carrier (1) and plate pack (2) from brake housing (3) .

Remove large O-ring (4) .

Place alignment marks on bushing (4). Bushing (4) is located inside piston (6). Carefully remove bushing (4) from pins (5) .Note: The direction and the position of the grooves in bushing (4) are important. The direction of these grooves are important for proper lubrication.

Loosen ten hex head screws (8). Remove spring caps (9) and compression springs (10) .

Remove six screws (11) from the automatic brake adjustment.

Remove cap (12). Use a hydraulic pump or air pressure in order to push piston (7) out of the brake housing.Note: Place a covering such as a shop towel over the brake housing. This will help prevent the sudden release of hydraulic fluid from the brake housing.

Remove two grooved rings (13) and (14) from the brake housing. Remove two backup rings (15) and (16) from the brake housing.Note: Identify the order of the rings. Record the order of the rings.

Remove six screws (17) from piston (7). Remove rings (18) that are located under nuts (19) .Note: It may be necessary to hold screw (17) and nut (19) in order to remove the nuts and the screws.

Remove remaining guide pins, studs, and locknuts (20) from the brake housing. Remove bearing race (21) from the brake housing.
