TUBE AS 1400047 - Caterpillar

(1) Drain the oil from the hydraulic tank. Remove hydraulic tank (1) and support (2). Install 6G2094 Support Assembly (3) on the differential case; use the former hardware. Install 6G2100 Hydraulic Tank Group (4) with three 1D4615 Bolts (5) and 2G8742 Washers; tighten to 340 15 lb.ft. (460 20) torque. (2) To install a 6G2153 Hydraulic Tank Assembly, disassemble the former hydraulic tank. Remove tank (6), filter and plate (7), tubes (8), (9), (10), (11) and (12) from tank (13). Assemble tubes (8), (9), (10), (11) and (12) in 6G2153 Hydraulic Tank Assembly (14) with new gaskets and locks and the original hardware. Install hose (15) with clamps (16). Install former tank (6) with a new 2D5383 Gasket. Install this tank group on support (3) as given in step one, above.Modification To Former Hydraulic Tank
(1) Fill former hydraulic tank (1) with CO2. Use an Arcair torch to remove plate (2) and block (3); grind the area smooth. (2) Use .79" (20.0) thick high strength structural steel to make plates (4) and (5) to the dimensions shown. Use a .66"Ø (16.75Ø) drill bit to make holes (A) and (B). Put threads in holes (A) and (B) with a 3/4"-10 tap. (3) Put plates (4) and (5) in position on 6G2094 Support (6). Loosely install three 1D4615 Bolts (7) with 2G8742 Washers in plates (4) and (5). Put hydraulic tank (1) in position on plates (4) and (5) so all hydraulic hoses and tubes can be installed. Tack weld plates (4) and (5) to hydraulic tank (1). Remove bolts (7) and tank (1). Use E7018 Welding Rods to make .25" (6.3) fillet welds along each side of plates (4) and (5). Install hydraulic tank (1) with three 1D4615 Bolts (7) and 2G8242 Washers; tighten to 340 15 lb.ft. (460 20) torque. If bolts (7) make contact with tank (1) at location (A) use a pencil grinder to grind into plates (8) and (9) to get clearance for the ends of the bolts. Full thread contact on the bolts is needed.
