Removal Procedure
Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all harness assemblies, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove bolts (1) and guard (2) .

Disconnect harness assembly (3) .
Remove bolts (4) and modulating valve (5) .

Remove O-ring seal (6). Remove nut (7) and the washer. Remove coil assembly (8) .
Repeat Steps 3 through 1 for the remaining modulating valves.Installation Procedure

Note: Inspect the O-ring seals, the seals, and the gaskets. Replace the O-ring seals, the seals, and the gaskets that are worn or damaged.Note: Lubricate O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Install coil assembly (8). Install nut (7) and the washer. Tighten nut (7) to a torque of 13 1.5 N m (115 13 lb in). Install O-ring seal (6) .

Install modulating valve (5). Install bolts (4). Tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 30 4 N m (22 3 lb ft). Connect harness assembly (3) .

Install guard (2) and bolts (1). Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 28 7 N m (21 5 lb ft).
