By using a magnetic protractor (1), measure the angle between the cutting edge and the ground. The angle should be 57 4 °. Refer to Specifications, "Bucket Positioner and Lift Kickout" for your machine for the proper adjustment procedure.The following conditions can cause the kickout positioner to malfunction.

If an incorrect pipe (2) or an incorrect tube assembly (2) is installed on a single tilt machine, the pipe or the tube assembly can become bent. If the pipe or the tube assembly is bent, the kickout positioner will not function properly. For the correct part number for machines that were manufactured in the United States, refer to Service Magazine, SEPD0807, 24 October 2005, "Correct Pipe and Tube Assembly for the Kickout and Positioner Groups".The 112-5494 Lever As (5) and the 9R-7797 Plate (6) are located on top of the tilt valve. If the lever assembly and the plate are not properly adjusted, the 135-9420 Pivot (3) can travel over the top of the 140-6009 Lever As (4). If this occurs, the pipe (2) or the tube assembly (2) will be bent. The pivot and the pointer can also be damaged when you lower the lift arms. Damage usually occurs when the gap (A) that is between the lever assembly and the plate is too large. The gap should be 13 2 mm (0.5 0.1 inch). In order to set the gap, adjust the length of the rod assembly (7) that is connected to the lever assembly. Refer to Specifications, "Bucket Positioner and Lift Kickout" for your machine for the proper adjustment procedure.Note: An improvement has been made to the pivot. The 135-9420 Pivot (3) has been lengthened by 13 mm (0.5 inch). The additional length prevents the pivot from traveling over the pointer. All damaged parts must be replaced before you adjust the kickout positioner.After you have made all necessary repairs and adjustments, review the information in Specifications, "Bucket Positioner and Lift Kickout" in order to check that the functions for the bucket positioner and kickout group are within specifications.
