TUBE AS 1471072 - Caterpillar

1. Drain engine coolant. Disconnect the governor linkage (2). Disconnect safety shutoff control cable from lever (1). Remove cable hold-down clamps retaining bolts. Remove channel mounting bolts and spacers. Remove the governor control channel assembly.2. To remove right aftercooler housing only, remove the fuel ratio control sensing line (3). Remove the governor-to-aftercooler housing mounting bracket (4). 3. Remove bolt (6) and washers retaining aftercooler air inlet elbow to turbocharger. Disconnect aftercooler water outlet elbow (7) from aftercooler housing. Remove the air equalizer tube (5). Disconnect air cleaner brace from air cleaner housing and swing brace away from housing. 4. To remove left aftercooler housing only, remove oil supply line (8). Disconnect safety shutoff oil supply line (11). Disconnect oil pressure gauge line (9). Remove oil block mounting bolt and remove oil block. Disconnect water temperature sensing line (10) and remove hold down clamps. Remove fuel pressure gauge line hold down clamps. Disconnect glow plug wiring harness from right side camshaft housings. Remove instrument panel mounting bolts. Lay instrument panel aside.5. Remove fuel injection line clamps, clips and brackets (13). Remove aftercooler housing-to-cylinder head inside mounting bolts (12). 6. Disconnect water inlet elbow (14) from aftercooler housing on Industrial engines. Remove aftercooler housing sea water outlet lines on Marine engines.7. Attach hoist to aftercooler housing and remove the outside housing-to-cylinder head mounting bolts. Remove aftercooler housing-weight 320 lbs. (145 kg).
Tape cylinder head inlet openings thoroughly after removal of aftercooler housing to prevent foreign materials from falling into cylinder head.
Install Aftercooler Housings
1. Remove tape from right cylinder head assembly. Install new aftercooler housing-to-cylinder head gaskets. Attach hoist and position right aftercooler housing (1) on engine and install mounting bolts. 2. Remove tape from left cylinder head assembly. Install new aftercooler housing-to-cylinder head gaskets. Attach hoist and position left aftercooler housing (2) on engine and install mounting bolts.3. Connect the water inlet and outlet lines to the front and rear of aftercooler housings.4. Install bolt and washers retaining elbow to turbocharger. Install air equalizer tube to both elbows. Connect braces to air cleaner housings. 5. To install right aftercooler housing only, install the governor-to-aftercooler housing mounting bracket. Install fuel ratio control sensing line. Connect glow plug wiring harness (6) to right side camshaft housings. Install safety shutoff control cable clamp retaining bolt (3). Install fuel injection line brackets (4), clips (5), and clamps. 6. To install left aftercooler housing only, position instrument panel (7) on housing and install mounting bolts. Connect water temperature sensing line and install hold down clamp. Install oil block (10), and connect oil lines. Install oil block supply line (8). Install fuel line and oil lines hold down clamps. Install fuel injection line clips, brackets and clamps (9).7. Position governor control channel assembly on engine and install mounting bolts and spacers. Connect the safety shutoff control cable to lever. Install cable hold down clamp, bolt and nut. Connect governor linkage. Install engine coolant.concluding step: a) install turbocharger heat shield (Marine engines only)
