Relief Valve In The Flow Control Valve Pressure Test
Make reference to the on the first page of the Testing And Adjusting section.
Relief Valve For Cylinders.
(1) Pressure taps.Install a pressure gauge on the pressure tap of the relief valve for the cylinders. Start the engine and operate the engine at high idle rpm. Look at the pressure gauge and turn the steering wheel in both directions. Do not keep the steering wheel against the stop for more than three seconds. The high pressure reading on the gauge is the setting of the relief valve in the flow control valve. The correct pressure setting is 15 500 170 kPa (2250 25 psi).Relief Valve In The Flow Control Valve Adjustments
Flow Control Valve
(2) Nut. (3) Adjusting screw. (4) Relief valve.Make reference to the on the first page of the Testing And Adjusting section. If it is necessary to make an adjustment to the pressure setting of the relief valve (4), loosen the nut (2) and turn the adjusting screw (3) clockwise (CW) to increase pressure. Turn the adjusting screw counterclockwise (CCW) to decrease pressure. One-quarter turn will change the pressure approximately 1260 kPa (185 psi).Once the pressure is set correctly, tighten the nut (2) to a torque of 50 7 N m (37 5 lb ft) while holding the adjustment screw (3) from turning.Relief Valve For The Cylinders Test
Make reference to the on the first page of the Testing And Adjusting section. The relief valve must be removed from the machine and tested and adjusted on a test bench. The pressure setting of the relief valve is 18 260 345 kPa (2650 50 psi) with a flow of 8 1 L/min (2.0 .2 U.S. gpm). This pressure setting is higher than the system relief valve in the flow control valve of 15 500 kPa (2250 psi). The relief valve is beside the left side of the engine and is on the machine frame in front of the flow control valve.
Relief Valve
Relief Valve
(1) Relief valve. (2) Relief valve. (3) Shims. (A) Pressure tap. (B) Pressure tap.To adjust the pressure of the relief valve, add shims (3) to increase the pressure setting or remove shims (3) to decrease the pressure setting. One 8J-7270 Shim with a thickness of 0.25 mm (.010 in.) will change the pressure setting approximately 550 kPa (80 psi).Front Wheel Alignment
Steering Linkage
(1) Distance between the tires at the front. (2) Clamps on left side tie bar. (3) Clamps on right side tie bar. (4) Distance between the front tires at the back.To check and adjust the front wheel alignment:1. Lift the front of the truck until the front wheels are off the ground and the strut rod's in the suspension cylinders are fully extended.2. Move the wheels to a straight ahead position.3. Measure the distance between the front tires at location (1). Mark the location point (1) on each tire and rotate 180 degrees. Measure distance (4) between the same marks.
