Remove four bolts and four washers (4). Remove muffler (5) from the machine.

Remove clamp (6). Separate exhaust elbow (2) from muffler (5) .Removal Procedure
246, 248 and 262 Skid Steer Loader
Lower the work tool to the ground.
Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position.
Open the engine access door.
Release the latch on the radiator. Raise the radiator. This will allow access to the muffler.Note: Do not attempt to service the muffler until the engine is cool to the touch.Note: The 246, 248 and 262 are equipped with a turbocharger.

Remove three bolts (1). Remove the washers and the gasket.Note: The gasket may be attached to the turbocharger.
Disconnect exhaust elbow (2) from turbocharger (3) .

Install clamp (6) in order to secure exhaust elbow (2) to muffler (5) .

Place muffler (5) in position. Install four bolts and four washers (4) in order to secure muffler (5) to the machine.

Align exhaust elbow (2) to exhaust manifold (3). Apply 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound to three bolts (1). Install the gasket and install three bolts and three washers (1) in order to secure exhaust elbow (2) to the exhaust manifold (3) .
Start the engine and check for exhaust leaks.
Turn the engine to the OFF position. Lower the radiator and lock the radiator into position.
Close the engine access door.Installation Procedure

Align exhaust elbow (2) to turbocharger (3). Apply 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound to three bolts (1). Install the gasket and install three bolts and three washers (1) in order to secure exhaust elbow (2) to the turbocharger (3) .
Start the engine and check for exhaust leaks.
