Information:
1. Be sure safety link is secured in unlocked position. 2. Engage parking brake. 3. Move the range selector lever to NEUTRAL. 4. Apply the range selector safety lock. 5. Move bucket controls to HOLD. 6. Turn disconnect switch ON.7. Depress accelerator just past detent position.
Never turn disconnect switch OFF when engine is running.
8. Push in and turn HEAT-START switch to HEAT for indicated time (see Starting Aid Chart). 9. Push in and turn HEAT-START switch to START. Release switch as soon as engine starts. 110. When engine starts it may be necessary to return HEAT-START switch to HEAT, until engine runs smoothly. 11. If difficulty is experienced in starting, move air/fuel ratio control lever to start position. (1)If engine does not start after 10 seconds, switch to HEAT for 30 seconds, then to START. If engine still does not start, let starter cool for 2 minutes then repeat starting procedure.(2)Heating of coolant and crankcase oil, use of starting fluid aid and/or use of extra battery capacity may be required.When Starting Fluid is Required
7. Depress accelerator just past detent position. Insert capsules. 8. Push in and turn HEAT-START switch to HEAT for indicated time (see Starting Aid Chart). 9. Push in and turn HEAT-START switch to START. Discharge capsule or spray starting fluid sparingly into air inlet while cranking.
Use starting fluid sparingly. Follow manufacturer's instructions carefully.
10. When engine starts it may be necessary to return switch to HEAT until engine runs smoothly.
If engine again does not start, let starter cool for 2 minutes then repeat starting procedure. Never turn switch to HEAT when engine is warm and running.
Starting With Boost
Attach ground cable last, and remove first, to prevent sparks from occuring near the battery which could cause battery vapors to explode. Attach ground cable from booster battery to a point on the frame away from, and below, the battery on the machine to be started.
When using jumper cables be sure to connect in parallel: POSITIVE (+) to POSITIVE (+) and NEGATIVE (-) to NEGATIVE (-).
Never turn disconnect switch OFF when engine is running.
