As the oil flows through the transmission, the oil is pulled through magnetic screen (1). In the screen, the oil flows through the openings that are between magnets. The magnets are installed so that the same magnetic ends are next to each other.As the oil flows over the magnets, metal particles are stopped by the magnets. The oil then flows through screen. Other foreign particles are stopped as the oil flows through the screen. The particles are not allowed to go into the power train system. The oil flows from the screen up to the scavenge section of the gear pump for the power train. The oil is then sent back to the torque converter sump.
