Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire. To help prevent possible injury, turn the start switch off when changing fuel filters or water separator elements. Clean up fuel spills immediately.

Remove clamp (2) and hand rail (1).

Disconnect harness assemblies (7). Remove nozzle (5). Note: Fuel may still be present inside hose (3). Have a suitable container ready to capture any fuel.
Disconnect clip (4). Reposition hose (3) through grommet (6).

Attach Tooling (A) and Tooling (B) to box assembly (8). The weight of box assembly (8) is approximately 32 kg (70 lb). Remove bolts (9) and box assembly (8).

Disconnect harness assembly (10) from light (11) and remove the cable straps.

Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to enclosure (12). The weight of enclosure (12) is approximately 45 kg (100 lb). Remove four mount bolts (13) and enclosure (12).

Disconnect hoses (14) and (16). Disconnect hose assembly (15).

Attach a suitable lifting device to diesel exhaust fluid tank (20). The weight of diesel exhaust fluid tank (20) is approximately 45 kg (100 lb).
Remove bolts (21) and diesel exhaust fluid tank (20). Installation Procedure
Install diesel exhaust fluid tank (20) in the reverse order of removal.
Thoroughly clean the connection for hose assembly (15) prior to installation. Apply Tooling (C) to the O-ring seal (not shown) inside the connector for hose assembly (15).
