Problem
Certain D9N and D10N Tractors equipped with a 6T1171 Steering Control Valve may experience intermittent neutralization of the transmission under certain operating conditions. This may be caused by instability of the steering clutch control valves.

Action Required
1. Follow the procedures in the Service Manual. Refer to the steering clutch and brake pressures for the correct settings. 2. Remove the 2-7T1114 and the 2-7T1116 Spool Assemblies from the steering control valve by removing the 4-7T1111 Plugs. The shims that control top pressures with the load springs will be found in the plugs. Open and disassemble one valve assembly at a time to avoid mixing parts or assemblies. 3. Remove the 6L8598 Snap Ring and 6T8248 Washer from the end of each of the spool assemblies and install a 9W5605 Retainer in place of the washer. Shim to obtain 0.50 mm (.020") between the 9W5605 Retainer and
