Typical Example
Position the rear axle assembly under the rear main frame, as shown.
Install Tooling (A) on both ends of the rear axle assembly.
Attach a suitable hoist, Tooling (B) , suitable clevises, and suitable lifting cables to Tooling (A) .
Coat the dowels with Tooling (C) .

Typical Example
Slowly raise the rear axle assembly. Make sure that the dowels are aligned with the holes in the rear main frame. The weight of the rear axle assembly is 3765 kg (8300 lb).

Install two bolts (1) and the washers. The torque for bolts (1) is 1800 200 N m (1330 150 lb ft). Repeat this procedure for the opposite side.

Install bracket assembly (3) . Install two bolts (2) and the washers. The torque for bolts (2) is 1800 200 N m (1330 150 lb ft). Repeat this procedure for the opposite side.

Typical Example
Place a suitable wood block between the rear axle housing and the rear main frame on both sides of the machine.Note: This will keep the axle housing from oscillating during the installation procedure.
Remove the lifting cables and Tooling (A) .End By:
Install the rear drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive Shaft (Rear) - Remove and Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
Install the power train guard. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Powertrain Guard (Transmission) - Remove and Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
Install the front crankcase guard. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankcase Guard (Front) - Remove and Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
Install the rear axle guards. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Axle Guards (Rear) - Remove and Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
Install the swingout ladders. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Swingout Ladder - Install" for the machine that is being serviced for the machine that is being serviced.
Install the rear compactor wheels. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Compactor Wheel - Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
