June 2000 COMPETITIVE ENGINE REPOWER AND CATERPILLAR ENGINE UPGRADE PROGRAMS BEING CANCELED The Competitive Engine Repower and Caterpillar Engine Upgrade Programs are canceled as of March 31, 1997. All transactions (sales) must be completed by this date to qualify for these programs. Core must be shipped to Corinth by June 15, 1997. The Core Credit Request/Packing List (CCR/PL) must indicate the Cat Reman engine part & serial numbers sold and the transaction date. Upon cancellation of these programs, competitive cores will no longer earn core credit. Also, dealers will receive core deposit for the Cat part number being returned, no longer core deposit for the engine purchased. Cores will qualify for a core deposit only when being returned on a purchase of an engine in the same core acceptance family, per the following CAF guidelines.

*3406 A/B/C engines are acceptable cores for the Reman 3406E with an upgrade charge. This additional charge will result from the difference between the core charge invoiced for the 3406E, and the credit issued for the 3406A/B/C.
