Remove connect assembly (1) and sleeve (2) from the harness assembly.
Remove plate (4) and grommet (3).
Loosen head and remove the cylinder rod and head assembly.

Remove plug (5) and set screw (6).

Push the harness assembly into the cylinder assembly. Use suitable tooling to remove sensor assembly (7) from the steering cylinder assembly. Take care not to damage sensor assembly (7). Install Tooling (D) to sensor assembly (7).

Remove sensor assembly (8).
Remove O-ring seal (10) and backup ring (9) from sensor assembly (8).Hydraulic Cylinder Sensor Installation Procedure

Lubricate backup ring (9) and O-ring seal (10) with the lubricant that is being sealed. Install backup ring (9) and O-ring seal (10) on sensor assembly (7). Install sensor assembly (7) to Tooling (E).
Route suitable fishing cable through the sensor hole in the cylinder body and attach the wires (11). Guide Tooling (E) and sensor assembly (7) into the cylinder body.

Use Tooling (E) to install the sensor assembly into the counterbore until the sensor assembly rests against the face of the counterbore. Only use hand pressure or if necessary a suitable rubber mallet with low pressure to push the sensor into the groove.
Ensure that the sensor is in the correct position with Tooling (G). A red stripe will be visible through the Set Screw Hole (X) when the sensor is correctly positioned.

Apply Tooling (B) to set screw (6) and tighten set screw (6) to a torque of 25 6 N m (221 53 lb in).
Install plug (5) and tighten to a torque of 26 3 N m (230 27 lb in).

Lubricate wires (11) before pulled through the grommet (3), then pull wires through the grommet (3). Install grommet (3). Clean lubricate off wires.
Apply Tooling (F) to the mating surface of plate (4) and install plate (4).
Install sleeve (2) over the wires.
Install wires into connector (1), Plug (13), White wire (15), Red wire (12), and Black wire (14). Install connector assembly (1).
If the hydraulic cylinder sensor is replaced, refer to Test and Adjust, "Position Sensor (Steering Cylinder) - Set" for the setup procedure for the new hydraulic cylinder sensor.
