( 1 ) This is the outer diameter of the filler spout.Remove the old filler spout. Prepare the area to be welded. Fabricate the filler spout with similar metal. The thickness of the metal is 6.35 mm (0.25 inch). See Illustration 1 and Table 1. Weld the 9X-2206 Fuel Adapter (1) on the filler spout with a 2 mm (0.079 inch) fillet weld.

Place the filler spout on the fuel tank.Tack weld the filler spout to the tank. Fillet weld the spout to the tank with a bead 3 mm (0.118 inch) between F and G and between E to H. Weld in the groove between E to F and between G to H with a 3 mm (0.118 inch) bead. See illustration 2.Install the 7X-7700 Fuel Tank Cap to the fuel adapter.Paint the area after the repair in order to prevent rust.
