Investigate the travel route for overpass clearances. Make sure there will be adequate clearance for the ROPS, FOPS, cab or canopy. To prevent the machine from slipping while loading, or shifting in transit, remove ice, snow or other slippery material from the loading dock and the truck bed before loading.
Obey all state and local laws governing the weight, width and length of a load.Observe all regulations governing wide loads.
1. Block the trailer or rail car wheels before loading (trailer shown). 2. After the machine is in position, connect the steering frame lock link to hold the front and rear frames rigid.3. Lower the bulldozer blade to the floor of the transport machine.4. Move the transmission control lever to NEUTRAL.5. Push the transmission neutral lock knob in to lock the transmission control lever. 6. Pull the parking/secondary brake knob up to engage the brake.7. Turn the start switch key to OFF and remove the key.8. Turn the disconnect switch key to OFF and remove the key.9. Block the tires and secure the machine with tiedowns when transporting on a rail car or a tractor-trailer.10. Cover the exhaust opening or secure the rain cap to prevent the turbocharger from "windmilling" in transit.Machine Roading
Before roading a machine, consult your tire dealer for recommended tire pressures and speed limitations."TON km/h" (TON MPH) limitations must be observed. Consult your tire dealer for the speed limit of the tires involved. When traveling long distances, stop every 40 km (25 miles) or 1 hour for 30 minutes to allow the tires and components to cool.Perform a "Walk-Around Inspection" and measure the fluid levels in the various compartments.Inflate the tires to the correct pressure.Use a self-attaching inflation chuck and stand behind the tire tread while inflating the tire. See "Tire Inflation Information."Bring the engine coolant, the crankcase oil and the transmission oil up to the correct levels.Check with the proper officials to obtain the required permits, etc.Travel at a moderate speed. Observe all speed limitations when roading the machine.
