Checking Pump Efficiency (Piston-Type Pump)
For any pump test, the pump flow, measured in liter/min (U.S. gpm) at 100 psi (690 kPa) will be larger than the pump flow at 1000 psi (6900 kPa) at the same rpm.The difference between the pump flow of two operating pressures is the flow loss.Method of finding flow loss: Flow loss when expressed as a percent of pump flow is used as a measure of pump performance.Example of finding percent of flow loss: On piston-type pumps, if the percent of flow loss is more than 5%, pump performance is not good enough.Test On The Machine
Install a Flow Meter. Measure pump flow at 100 psi (690 kPa) at 1000 psi (6900 kPa) with engine at 2200 rpm. Test On The Bench
If the test bench can not be ran at 1000 psi (6900 kPa), do the first part of the test with the pump shaft rotation 925 rpm. Measure pump flow at 100 psi (690 kPa) and at 1000 psi (6900 kPa). To measure the pump flow for the last part of the test, see Specifications for: Pump rpm at 100 psi (690 kPa) with the engine at 2200 rpm. Adjustment Of Lift And Tilt Hydraulic Control Levers
Use caution to avoid possible personal injury when adjusting the bucket positioner and lift kickout.Apply the Parking/Secondary brake and block the tires to prevent sudden movement of the machine.Keep personnel off the machine. Clear the area when working under or around the bucket linkage. With the bucket raised, proper support must be provided for the bucket and/or the linkage.
Control Lever Adjustment
(1) End (on valve stem of pilot control valve). (2) Locknut. (3) Washer. (4) Rod. (5) Ball joint (on control lever). (6) Control lever (either lift or tilt). (7) Washer. (8) Locknut. (9) Detents. (10) Detent roller. (11) End (on solenoid). (12) Solenoid. (A) Raise and Tilt Back. (B) Float.1. Be sure the lift kickout and bucket positioner are correctly located. See sections, Lift Kickout Adjustment Procedure and Bucket Positioner Adjustment Procedure.2. Adjust the length of each rod (4) in end (1) and ball joint (5) on each control lever (6) as follows: Make the adjustment so
