Note: Stop the engine before you check any belts. Open the access cover on the right side of the machine.Alternator Belt

Inspect the condition of the alternator belts. Use a Kent Moore Company BT-33-72C gauge to check the tension of the alternator belts.The tension of a used alternator belt with more than 30 minutes of operation at rated speed should be 400 44 N (110 10 lb). The tension of a new alternator belt with 30 minutes of operation or less at rated speed should be 534 22 N (180 5 lb).If the alternator belts require adjustment or replacement, proceed to Step 2.

Loosen mounting bolts (2) and adjusting locknut (3) .
Turn adjusting nut (1) until the correct belt tension is reached. Tighten adjusting locknut (2) to a torque of 150 20 N m (110 15 lb ft).
Tighten mounting bolts (2) .
Recheck the belt tension. If the tension is incorrect, repeat the adjustment procedure.Air Conditioner Belt

Use a Kent Moore Company BT-33-97 gauge to check the tension of the air conditioner belt.The tension of a used air conditioner belt with more than 30 minutes of operation at rated speed should be 400 44 N (160 10 lb). The tension of a new air conditioner belt with 30 minutes of operation or less at rated speed should be 534 44 N (240 10 lb).If the air conditioner belt requires adjustment or replacement, proceed to Step 2.

Loosen compressor bracket mounting bolt (1) and adjusting locknut (2) .
Turn adjusting nut (3) until the correct belt tension is reached. Tighten adjusting locknut (2) to a torque of 150 20 N m (110 15 lb ft).
Tighten compressor bracket mounting bolt (1) .
Recheck the belt tension. If the tension is incorrect, repeat the adjustment procedure.
