Do not disconnect any air lines until the system air pressure is zero. If airlines are disconnected under pressure it can cause personal injury.
1. Disconnect hose assemblies (1) and (2) from the rotochamber fittings. 2. Install tooling (A) and extend the rod end of rotochamber until the cotter pin and pin (3) can be removed. 3. Remove the two nuts that fasten the rotochamber to anchor assembly (5). Remove rotochamber (4).Install Rotochamber
1. Put rotochamber (1) in position on the anchor assembly (2) and install two nuts. 2. To adjust the clearance between brake linings (6) to brake disc (3) proceed as follows:a. With pin removed, turn yoke (5) to either increase or decrease lining to disc clearance. Install pin. Tighten locknut (4). b. Install tooling (A).c. With the rod assembly connected to bellcrank (7), apply a minimum air pressure of 480 kPa (70 psi).d. The clearance between the brake linings and disc is 0.25 0.10 mm (.010 .004 in). 3. Connect hose assemblies (8) and (9) to the rotochamber fittings.Disassemble & Assemble Brake Actuator
Start By:a. remove rotochamber 1. Remove yoke (1) and nut (2) from rod.
The rotochamber is under spring tension. do not remove bolts (3) until assembly is under compression. Personal injury can be the result if assembly is not disassembled as given.
2. Install tooling (A) on the rotochamber assembly. Also tie a wire around assembly as shown to help keep assembly in alignment during disassembly. 3. Remove bolts (3), cover (4), spring (5) and rod assembly (6) from body (7). The rotochamber assembly is not serviced and a replacement must be made of the unit if in need of repair.4. If seals on the head end of the rod can be used again, install rod (6) and spring (5) in body. 5. Install assembly in step 4 with cover (4) in tooling (A).6. Tie wire around tooling (A) for alignment purpose and make a compression of the assembly and install bolts (3). Remove tooling (A).7. Install nut (2) and yoke (1) on rod.End By:a. install brake actuator
