Remove two bolts (24) and bearing cap (22). Repeat this procedure for the opposite side.

Remove bearing cup (25). Repeat this procedure for the opposite side.

Use the hoist in order to remove the differential and bevel gear (26) from carrier (27). The combined weight of the differential and of the bevel gear (26) is 272 kg (600 lb). Note: Steps 30 through 50 are used for the disassembly of the differential.

Place the differential and the bevel gear on suitable wood blocks, as shown.
Remove bolts (28).

Place the differential and bevel gear assembly on a suitable wood block in order to allow bevel gear (30) to be removed.
Install Tooling (B).
Attach a suitable hoist and lifting slings to Tooling (B).
Use the hoist in order to remove differential (29). The weight of differential (29) is 221 kg (490 lb). The weight of the bevel gear is 68 kg (150 lb).

Carefully invert the differential (29).
Put alignment marks across the differential cases.
Remove 14 bolts (31). Do not remove two bolts. The two remaining bolts should be 180 degrees from each other.

Carefully invert the differential.
Install Tooling (B).
Attach a suitable hoist and lifting slings to Tooling (B).
Remove remaining two bolts (31).
Remove top differential case (32). The weight of top differential case (32) is 105 kg (230 lb).

Use Tooling (G) in order to remove bearing cone (33) from the top differential case.

Remove spacer (34).
Remove gear (35).

Attach a suitable hoist and lifting slings, as shown.
Use the hoist in order to remove the spider and pinion gear assembly (36) from case (37). The weight of spider and pinion gear assembly (36) is 32 kg (70 lb).

Remove gear (38) from differential case (37).

Remove thrust washer (39) from the differential case.

Remove spacer (42), pinion gear (41), and sleeve (40) from spider assembly (36). Repeat this procedure for the remaining three pinion gear assemblies.
