2. Remove five screws (1) and cover (2) from the instrument panel. 3. Disconnect electrical connector (3). 4. Disconnect hose (6).5. Open covers (5) as shown.6. Remove nuts (7) and wiper arm assemblies (4). 7. Remove caps (8). 8. Support wiper motor assembly (9) inside the cab. Remove bolt (10) and nut (11). Remove plate (12) and the gasket. Carefully remove wiper motor assembly (9) from the cab.Install Window Wiper and Wiper Motor (Front)
1. Carefully install wiper motor assembly (9). Support the wiper motor assembly inside the cab. Install the gasket and plate (12). Install nut (11) and bolt (10).2. Tighten nut (11) to a torque of 19 1 N m (14 1 lb ft). Tighten bolt (10) to a torque of 12 3 N m (9 2 lb ft) 3. Connect electrical connector (3). 4. Install cover (2) and five screws (1) on the instrument panel. 5. Install caps (8).
Place the wiper motor in the parked position before installation of the wiper arm assembly. If the wiper arm assembly is installed when the wiper motor is not in the parked position, misalignment will occur. This can cause damage to the wiper motor, the wiper arm assembly, and the window.
6. Place the wiper motor in the "PARKED" position as follows: a. Rotate the key to the "ON" position.b. Rotate the window wiper switch to the "ON" position.c. Rotate the window wiper switch to the "OFF" position. Wait until the window wiper motor stops moving. This is the "PARKED" position.d. Rotate the key to the "OFF" position.
Push the wiper arm assembly straight on the tapered shaft. If the wiper arm assembly is not installed straight, when the shaft turns the spines will be improperly formed and damage will occur.
7. Install wiper arm assembly (4) on the tapered shafts at 27 1 degrees to the left of the vertical centerline. Install the washers and nuts (7). Hand tighten the nuts on the shaft. If the wiper arm assembly is not installed correctly, remove the wiper arm assembly from the shaft and reposition the wiper arm assembly.8. Tighten nuts (7) to a torque of 23 1 N m (17 1 lb ft). Wait a minimum of 30 minutes and a maximum of 4 hours. Tighten nuts (7) again to a torque of 23 1 N m (17 1 lb ft).9. Close covers (5).10. Connect hose (6) to the fitting. Do not use petroleum lubricants on the hose ends. Do not stretch the hose between connection points.11. Separate the steering frame lock link. Refer to the topic "Steering Frame Lock Link, Separate & Connect" in this module.
